Secret Santa name draw
Add everyone’s name, set a spending limit, and get one link for each person to send privately. Nobody signs up and nobody gives an email address.
Questions to send the group
Paste these into the group chat before the draw. Whoever gets your name will know what to buy, and what not to.
- Coffee, tea, or neither?
- A snack or sweet you’d never turn down?
- Any allergies, or things you can’t eat?
- Your favorite color, and one you’d never wear?
- Candles and scents: yes, or no thanks?
- A hobby you’d happily spend more time on?
- Something small you keep meaning to replace?
- Desk, home or travel: where would a gift get the most use?
- Your sock or shirt size, if clothes are fair game?
- A store you’d love a gift card to?
- Anything you don’t want (more mugs, clutter, novelty)?

How the links keep it secret
The names never leave this browser: each person’s match travels inside their link, after the #, which browsers don’t send to any server, ours included. Whoever holds a link can open it, so send each one to its person alone, by text or chat. If you’re the organizer and playing too, don’t open the others.
Picking a spending limit
A low limit, $20 to $30, suits a group that doesn’t know each other well: nobody feels outspent. Each link shows the limit and leads to Secret Santa gifts under that amount, every one with the price checked in the last day. Playing the swap version instead? Here is how a white elephant swap works.
