A dated ornament or a handprint kit for the tree, a first stocking, holiday outfits, touch-and-feel books and soft toys rated for babies. For the tree, the CPSC advises homes with small children to avoid sharp, weighted or breakable decorations and keep trimmings with small removable parts out of reach: porcelain goes up high, shatterproof balls go low.
